California is home to one of the largest veteran populations in the nation. Yet in recent years, the state has seen a troubling trend: many military retirees are choosing to leave California after their service and build their next chapter elsewhere.

The VetFund Foundation is pleased to announce that Julian Cañete has stepped into the role of Chair, following his tenure on the Board, most recently serving as Vice Chair.

Today, Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 694 (Archuleta) into law, marking a major milestone in California’s efforts to protect veterans and their families from predatory practices and to reinforce the state’s leadership in veteran services.
